Funds collected are distributed to recognized,
established African based non-governmental organizations
(NGOs) carefully selected to partner with One
Here…One There. The selection process
emphasizes those NGOs with minimal overhead and measured
accountability.
Our all-volunteer staff will administer
and oversee the program. It is anticipated that no more
than 10% of revenues will be used to support administrative
costs.
Selected partner NGOs will distribute
the needed monies in the best way to support qualified
students. Often that means they will pay school tuition
and buy books. Or, it could mean that they work with
the family to free the student from his or her income-producing
chores. Whatever the need is, your donation will be
used to facilitate the education of an African child.
“Access
to educational opportunities presents a set of critical
challenges, particularly to girls and young women. There
are physical, economic and cultural barriers each female
student must overcome. The reality is that many girls
simply are denied a chance to go to school, because
their labor is needed in the home or in the fields or
in the market place. We need to empower girls and women
through providing scholarship aid, job skill training,
and mentoring within the larger framework of micro credit
activities.”
