African Education Charity Renews Agreement with Stetson University

Tampa, Florida, November 3, 2006 - One Here…One There, an international charity devoted to educating children in sub-Saharan Africa, has renewed an agreement with Stetson University (DeLand, FL) to encourage college students to include aid to African students in a donation with their tuition payment.

One Here…One There is a unique student-to-student non-profit organization that provides college students the opportunity to donate $20 on top of their tuition billing to help cover the cost of a child’s education in sub-Saharan Africa. In some areas of Africa, a child can be educated for a whole year for as little as $20.

"The confidence and cooperation we have received from students and administrators at Stetson is nothing short of phenomenal and we are delighted to have a renewal for a second year," said Jan B. Latour, charity president.

In the program’s pilot year at Stetson, One Here...One There raised more than $10,000 for educational purposes in sub-Saharan Africa. One hundred percent of donations are directed to African non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and are used for funding tuition, books and other education-related expenses. A grant from the Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation is covering all operating expenses for the charity during its start-up phase.

One Here…One There is actively developing support from additional schools in several states as a follow-up to its highly successful pilot campaign at Stetson. "A number of student organizations at other universities have also inquired about direct participation," said Latour.

Individual gifts are welcome and can be made by visiting the Web site, www.onehereonethere.org.
