The Indiana University chapter of One Here... One There held its first annual Art for
Africa Benefit on February 15, 2008. Guests gathered at Upland, a local restaurant and
brewery, to enjoy music, food, and a silent auction. Both professional and student
artists donated nearly 100 pieces of African themed art work for that evening's silent auction fundraiser. IU OHOT's Vice President of Media, Carolyn Taylor, brought in $450, the highest bid of
the night, by donating one of her original paintings. Guests were also able to get information
about One Here... One There, buy IU OHOT t-shirts, and learn more about IU OHOT's
upcoming trip to Africa. The event was very successful and IU OHOT is looking forward
to making its Art for Africa Benefit even bigger and better in the years to come.
